Re: Typical newbie story and a question
Ray Traced rendering, even if you have a compatible NVIDIA card, is very slow. The root of your problem is using Ray-traced rendering to make the logo look 3D. If all you need is a simple extrusion then change the rendering engine to Classic 3D, start with your logo layer at comp center, add a 3D null to the comp, parent the logo to the 3D null and add this expression to position property of the logo layer:
[0, 0, index-1]
Now duplicate your layer 50 times for a 50-pixel extrusion and position the extruded logo using the null.
You can then pre-compose the logo/null comp and collapse transformations or just shy all of the duplicated layers and use the null to move the logo around in 3D space.
You could also just apply Shatter to the logo, move the Force 1 away from the surface so that the layer did not shatter and use the comp camera, the first comp light and a color for the side and get this:
If you have to use Ray-traced rendering, simplify the comp as much as possible, set the render options to the lowest value that will give you the look you want and patiently wait for rendering through the Render Cue. You will have to render a production master and then compress the rendered file using the Adobe Media Encoder of something like Handbrake if you need to deliver an MP4. DO NOT use Quicktime H.264 in the Render Cue because it is buggy and no longer supported by Apple.

I don't understand...
- I updated my GeForce GTI 1060 6Gb Graphics Card. It was just one version behind.
- I completely uninstalled all Trapcode Suites. I had Suite 15, 14, 13,5 and an even older one.
- I re-installed the latest Trapcode Suite 15.
- I resat all the Graphics card settings.
- I followed Rick's example and still nothing happens. The particles do not react to any camera adjustment. I used a very wide lens, I tweaked the zoom and only the 3d background layer reacts.
Very strange... I will try to install the previous version again. I would like, though, to have the latest Suite's fluid simulations.
Anyway... I will ask help from Red Giant (if they can help...).

Ok the last information is important - so we can say that it is not Particular fault.
To be honnest I'm shooting in the dark beacuse I never had that issue and I never heard about it from anyone on forums but:
- check if Particular uses GPUor CPU (in render settings
- change Project settings in AE
File->Project settings->video rendering and effects->Mercury software only
- if you are using newest AE update - try to instal earlier version and try there

I have already done all these. I tried both with Mercury GBU Acceleration on and off. I changed the GPU in the preview preferences, as well. And finally I switched the Particular GPU and CPU rendering settings. Nothing happens. Everything is "dead"...

So if you also try other AE version also and still nothing and Particular and AE that you have is in original legal versions - that have to be (especially if as you say - other trapcode plugins have that issue also in all versions (15, 14, 13,5)) something in hardware or hardware drivers - probably GPU.

I have seen no reported bugs.
The next stop for me would be to uninstall all of the Trapcode Suite using the Reg Giant Link app and re-install.

Re: After Effects Stuck Off Screen
This option+shift/switching workspaces/changing screen resolution is a bit ridiculous, no? Everytime I try to work on just my laptop after being connected to other monitors I have to go through this whole routine and at the moment, the windows are positioned in such a way where they literally are stuck and none of this will work. Is there a file on my computer that I can delete that will reset my preferences and make my computer forget it was prev connected to other monitors? Also, can adobe please fix this?

After Effects 2019 always crashes on exit
From yesterday AE crashes every single time I exit the program ( pressing X or exit from the file menu ). 2019 has worked before, I was working on some projects from premiere to After Effects and now I always get this error. I have also 2018 installed which does not have this issue. Any ideas?

I found it... It is so silly!!!!!!!!! It's like when some girls call the technician to fix the TV and they have forgotten to plug it for power... But it is a question I have, though. Why can't it be done my way. When I trim the layer with Particular on, the camera does not work. If I don't trim it, the camera works. I always trim the layer in order not to wait for the effect to build up....

I'm sorry, but I haven't explained it well, so you are not understanding what I've attempted to explain. I am NOT applying corner pin data to the new logo layer, that was suggested by you in a previous reply:
As we both know at this point, this won't work because the corner pin data needs to be on the precomp, and not on the actual logo layer within the precomp.
As you've stated, my goal IS to do exactly the following, but my exported still frame to create my new logo is preventing my sign to be the full comp size, so I'm trying to find out a better way to make it the full comp size be scaling those four corners to comp size in the easiest way:
If your original footage is 1920 X 1080, the logo layer must be 1920 X 1080. A shape layer always has the same frame size as the comp. The frame size of any layer changes when you scale the layer so Corner Pin tracking data should never be applied to a scaled layer.
Regarding this image, which is the exact same size as the sign in my footage:
You are correct that the blue layer needs to be the same size as the comp, that has been what I've attempted to explain since my first post here. The problem is that because I'm exported a still frame from the original footage and changed it in Photoshop, at no point does it become full screen. The size of the sign in the footage is exactly the same as the above image, so when I exported a still frame and used it to recreate my own sign, I ended up with the exact same thing; a replaced sign that's the same as the sign in the original footage. So this is where the difficulty is. It never is the full screen, so it won't composite properly unless it is stretched to the full precomp size.
That is the part that has been confusing everyone. I needed to use a still frame export so maintain part of the original sign when making the new one, so therefore, at no point does the new sign become the full size of the screen because the original was used to make the new one, It is always like the above image. So when I completed the project a few days ago; within the precomp, I distorted the sign to stretch and distort to fill the precomp, then on the main comp everything is perfect and the tracking/composite works, but it's just a messy process to distort within the precomp.
Again, I'm not working with a brand new sign where I'm able to have it the full size of the precomp. If that were the case, this would be easy. I wasn't provided with a PSD where the sign is the full canvas size; instead I created my own using the footage because I needed elements from the original sign, so at no point does the sign become the full canvas size, unless I stretch it in Photoshop, or AE, which is what I did to complete the shot; I'm just looking to see if there's a better way to do this, while keeping in mind the still frame exported includes the size of the sign that is NOT the full comp size. (Same as above image) It's not a flat sign to camera, it has a perspective change, but again, in order to make the new sign, I had to use the original one, which is why the replaced sign never is the full precomp, unless I stretch it.

That actually makes a little bit of sense to me. particular is based on time and you have moved the layer so far back in time that the camera is seeing what happened a few seconds earlier instead of what is happening now. If you set keyframes for the emitter at 10 seconds and then slid the timeline so the keyframes were at - two minutes you would never see the change. I think that is what is happening to the camera move.
The normal workflow to pre-run the emitter is to open up the emitter extras and set the emitter pre-run to 100%. The details are in the User Guide.
Emission Extras> Pre Run
This control is used to pre-run the system so that particles can be visible at the first frame. The pre-run value is a percentage value where 0% is no pre-run. At a value of 0, the simulation essentially starts at the first frame where no particles have been emitted. A value of 100 translates to a 100% completion of the emission of particles on the first frame. At 100%, all particles that should be emitted at the first frame will appear based on Emitter controls like Velocity and the particle life.

Edit: I uploaded the same things again and now it is fixed! Thank you. I'm not sure about the crashes though. It doesn't give me any error message when it crashes, so I don't know why it is doing that.

I'll say it again. Your workflow does not make any sense. You can work around it if you really want to spend a bunch of time fixing something that does not need fixing.
You need to take the original sign you fixed in Photoshop back into Photoshop and distort it so that it fills the frame. There are several ways to do that but the easiest is probably to make a selection of just the fixed sign and then hold down the Ctrl/Cmnd key and use the basic transform tool to make the fixed sign fill the frame. So this (Log footage from a tutorial I am working on):
Turns into this by using Ctrl/Cmnd + J to duplicate the selection:
And that selection gets stretched to this using the move tool (v) and the Ctrl/Cmnd key starting from the short side in a two step process from here to square up the sides:

Save the PSD, apply corner pin and you're done. Trying to do this in AE is inefficient, there is no automatic way to accomplish the task, and the quality of the composite will not improve.
If I had artwork that I just wanted to use to replace a sign entire sign I would just drop it in the timeline, use Fit to Frame from the Transform menu, pre-compose and apply corner pin tracking to the pre-comp. That would be easier than trying to distort an existing logo in Photoshop on a sign that was not square to the camera.
So I guess the short answer to your question is No, there is no automatic way to automatically distort an image that is not a rectangle parallel with the sides of the comp frame so that it fits the frame. You have to do it manually and Photoshop is the easiest tool to use.

Getting EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION all the time in 2019
It first started with just premier and even today i can't even use let alone open Premier so i have to use 2018 . The issue there has to do with the essential sound files. But now as i'm using 2019 more and more in the other apps i'm getting tons of access violations. But only in 2019. Is anyone else getting tons of crashing in 2019?? I'm now starting to get it in After Effects and a lot has the reference essential sound and other violation s don't. Here is the latest:

Don't tell me to update my video card drivers or remove my plugins. I'v already done that and again this only occurs in 2019. My 2018 version all run fine. here is what i have done:
Note most errors are when under load in Adobe and using 3D. But i have had it with just doing other normal tasks as well.
1. Updated all drivers including the fresh install of NVIDIA drivers. I even used an older more solid build and still issues.
2. I have done a fresh install of all Adobe products. This includes using the remove tool
3. My computer runs fine including all my other 3d apps and high-end workload apps.
4. The workaround to create a local user and build a new profile and use that works where i can at least open up Premier and have less crashing but that is not an option plus i just had it crash again under the admin local profile so looks like it's not a real solution anyway.
5. memory is good
6. A lot of the errors make photoshop or after effects just disappear
7. But then again most are caught and I send in the crash dump.
8. 2019 is very buggy and crash p[rone and is basically worthless to me.
9. 2018 had holes where 2019 was supposed to fill but now that's gone.
10. Am i to suspect under any load Adobe can crash at any time?

Adobe CC apps close when screen coming out of sleep
Hi all, I have Windows 10 Pro, 16 GB RAM, Fall Creators update, GeForce GTX1070 8GB Ram, Windows power management is set to turn off monitors after 15 minutes - when coming out of sleep, After Effects CC 2019, Premiere Pro CC 2019, become none responsive and close. I have the latest CC updates for all Adobe apps, and creative cloud app installed as of today. The only way I have been able to avoid this is to turn off the setting to turn off the monitor in power management.
Also, this is what my screens do when coming out of sleep:
this happens for a few seconds, then normal desktop shows, then, any open Adobe apps that were running close on me.
Short of formatting and re-installing Windows 10 Pro and starting fresh, I'm stumped...

That's what I was trying to figure out; how to stretch the file in AE, or in Photoshop. I tried AE and it was taking a while, but I eventually did it. In my reply #9, I was asking how to do that.
Your example is similar and what you've explained answers my question so thank you.
I just filmed a mockup to try and explain it better, but it looks like you've provided a better way in your recent post, so thank you.
here's a mock up I just filmed of the scene. It includes 1 clip of an applebox with some tape on it to resemble the sign I was working with. I exported a still frame of it and then used it to create a new sign. You'll see with my new sign within the photoshop file that the task I had to do was to have nothing in the bottom sections, and to move the bottom sections up to the top. (The Photoshop file consists of the original exported still frame as well as the replaced sign I made using the original.

Your workflow would be to stretch in Photoshop for this as well?
