Hi,
I'm building a new machine (i7 4790 with 16GB RAM) which can best Run & Render- After Effects, Premiere, SpeedGrade. I have two cards in mind and that are nVidia Quadro K2200 or AMD Fire Pro W5100 because my budget is limited to 400$ max. After reading this forum posts and with manufactures descriptions I'm really confused whether to pick the Green Pill or Red Pill. Please help and suggest other cards which works well also.
Thanks - I'll have a look
Hi all,
I use AI to create assets to animate in AE. As a matter of good practice I save my AI files in iterations, often with the naming convention:
example_V1.ai
example_V2.ai
example_V3.ai
etc
I keep all my AI files in a folder (windows machine) until I'm happy with the illustration to be animated. I then set up my AE project and import the final AI file as a composition (retained layer sizes). The frustrating thing is that when I select, say example_V3 to import, AE always reads example_V1 in the folder. Without fail AE can't recognise that V1 and V3 are different files and always defaults to opening the first file in my hierarchy, even though they're clearly named differently (be it only the numerical digit). Why is this? To solve this I usually name my final file example_FINAL and then it pulls in the completed illustration and not one of the work in progress files. This seems like an elementary fault of reading files names. Give it a go and see if you get the same result...
Has anyone else ever noticed this and are Adobe aware of the issue? It's no biggie really but it's a bit annoying.
Cheers
Check your fonts. This usually happens when you have and or damaged font on the system.

You have possibly simply enabled the sequence option in the file dialog. if that's not the case, you will have to provide at least soem system and version info, which you haven't done so far. if it's a bug, it's version specific, not per se a generic issue.

how to activate blue interface and text in after effects cc 2014 and and in other software CC2014 ?
Hey, how are you getting on with this? I've recently got the iMac 27" with a 3TB Fusion Drive and I'm having the same issue with AE 13.2.0.49 and Premier Pro. It's very odd and incredibly frustrating when we've got client projects that need finishing.
I ran into this same problem and have an idea of what it might be, plus the two different things I did to get around the bug. I am also up to date with CC and had never had anything like this happen before.
I was working in an existing project that a client wanted updated with replacement slides and audio. I have worked with dozens of audio files within AE projects before with as many as 300 additional layers of video footage, images and animations - no problems. When he gave me the new files and I began inserting them everything was fine up until a point where I started getting the error and I would have to completely restart AE. Reading this thread I found success in pre-composing all audio files but for the sake of being able to edit without the error message and freezing, I was able to keep working when I disabled all audio tracks other than the one or two currently in my work area. I am guessing that just soloing would work too.
What I noticed that might be different about this project was that I was using a mix of both wav and mp3 files, with multiple layers of each. So maybe AE is getting confused with the formats but only when having to work with several layers of each? I do not specifically recall if I have used a mix of the two formats in the past but I always make it a point to work only with wav. What I do know is that I never had a problem like this until the most recent CC update for AE.
Hey Adobe-ites -
So I'm running some tests of my new iMac 5K (See image below) and I am getting the Ray-Tracing error message regarding my unsupported GPU card.
After Effect is telling me that my GPU is not supported, and that I need an NVIDIA card with CUDA.
Since I do not have these, and will certainly not be getting these, am I going to notice a huge difference since my CPU is pretty quick?
And is there no way of fixing this? - Rumor has it that an update for AE-CC is coming out to fix this.
Also, in what particular scenario would I be using this ray-tracing feature? I have a feeling I wouldn't miss it. The work I do is not dependent on bending 2D objects to 3D.
Sincerely,
Ryan
If you're null ended up in the right position when you did the camera tracking then all you have to do is hold down the shift key when you parent your embedded composition to the null and then scale and position the layer.
I have no idea what's going on with Mocha because you haven't told us about your technique.
I don't think he wants the pieces to reassemble; I think he just wants the pieces to fly into the computer screen.
Are you saying it does this on every project when you render or just the one?
How did you remove the CUDA drivers from my System?
They need to get a little smaller and closer together as they go into the screen so time remapping would expand and contract them. You would not need to go all the way to fully reassembled.
I did exactly what I need to scribe just a few weeks ago except I disassembled an actor and then squish the swarm into a ball of dots using corner pin squeeze it into a smart phone screen.
Yes I want the pieces to fly into the screen and then disapear, Im am now trying my best to edit it. So when I have any more problems I'll ask again. Thank you both!
This page explains how to remove the CUDA drivers a few paragraphs in: Avoid installing NVIDIA CUDA drivers on computers with AMD GPUs
Is there a way to group multiple layers into one movable object or layer? I have 3 layers each with a different audio spectrum on it and I want to group them together so I don't have to Duplicate 12 layers.
when i import a video , the video slows down the frame rates drop and it's not playing in real time , but when i look at the fps they are as they should be 59.94
