I'm having an issues with the pinning nulls to path points when using Illustrator files.

 

After importing the Illustrator layers, I use the "create shapes from vector layers" command.  Once I've created the vector layer, I use the "Create Nulls from Path" feature.  At this point, it creates the nulls and attaches them to the points.  However, the nulls are offset in such a way as to be unusable.  Does anyone else have this issue?  Any solutions?  Would be wonderful to use this nulls feature with files created in illustrator.

Apologies for my lack of clarity.  They were movs that I'd rendered from AE, but now only want to play

them back on QT.

I don't understand why the unplayable mov icons would even be visible.

Possibly because the old computer they were on (G5) went belly up, and the files were retrieved

by a half-assed Mac repair shop that that did a botch job, and didn't even retrieve content from the 2nd internal drive.

Wait. You said that you have files with .mcdb extensions and I'm saying that those files are not and never were playable. Files with mcdb extension are not movie files and never were.
So if you have only mcdb files - you will not playback them and never will
But if you have files with mov extension and could play before but not on new station - that mean that your new os don't have codec that your mov file was compressed with and you have to instal it.

The files do have the mov extension - but  Followed By the .mcdb extension.  (like Old.mov.mcdb

So those were never playable?  But the icons were mysteriously duplicated from real movs, and the mcdb extension was added?

If that is the case, I'll have to hunt around.  Maybe the actual files no longer exist.

They're taken from an external hard drive.

MCDB file is a Media Cache Database. MCDB file records the location of cache files and related media files

That's more or less what I said in my firest post

a) mcdb files are not a mov files - mcdb files are PPro cache files or to be more specific a links to source footage that PPro use for not caching multiple times the same source file.

hi guys!
When I render from After Affects through Media Encoder, I can't get that fade effect, that we have inside the presets.

If you keyframe the opacity, its ok, but if you use the "Fade In + Out" preset, it doesn't render properly on Media Encoder.
I guess it's something to do with the "Solid Composite" effect.

Any workaround or fix?

I've tried with Documents by Readdle and now when i movie it in iCloud Drive it there's an option where i can transfer it to an app, which in this case i chose the app ''Documents by Readdle''. I did the exact same thing as i did before, i pressed on the option to move the video to my camera roll but this time there was no option and i don't know what to do, anyways it's a bit hard to explain, you should try the app so you can understand what i mean!

I am running into the same issue, and I immediately thought the same thing. I can't seem to figure out how though. I am not using any color management (even though I tried several to see if this would correct it), isolated down to just using one monitor, changed from 8 to 16 and 32 bit color depth, changed the hardware acceleration to all available options and I cannot seem to fix it.

 

I am on an iMac retina 5k, 27 inch 2017

4.2 Ghz Intel Core i7

32 GB 2400 DDR$

Radeon Pro 580

 

After Effects CC is up to date, version 16.0.1 (Build 48)

 

I have done all I know to do, including clearing the cache and clearing settings.

 

No matter what I do, the eyedropper tool will not work with the color theme window, and always pulls a different color, usually a darker, muted version of the color I wanted. If I use the eyedropper within the comp however, it pulls the correct color every time. I have a coworker with an identical rig and software that does not have this issue, so I assume it MUST be in some setting I just don't know to check. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I assumed this was an issue with color space or color management, but I can't seem to figure out how. tengo after effects CC 2019, además mi pc cuenta con una gráfica dedicada de NVIDIA, y tengo el problema de que los vídeos que importo en mp4, tal como mts y mp4, solo en algunos, me salen con rayas verdes o moradas, que creo que es lo mismo, esas opciones que indican no me sirven, ¿me podéis ayudar?

Thanks Rick, works well but I have one issue where the roto tool only removes the back ground for about 30 odd frames?

Make double-dog sure you are using SQUARE pixels (aspect ratio 1.0)  all the way through this workflow, in ALL applications.

I don't use the Readdle app.  Why don't you just use the built in Files app?  You've already demonstrated that the phone asks you to do it that way.

 

What is your actual goal here, just to move the file between computers?  Would it be easier to just use a thumb drive? 

 

You might get better responses if you explain specifically what you are trying to do.

Hi. I'm. wanting to do a similar effect to Coyote Peterson where it looks like a pen highlights/circles the name of country...and then arrow pops up.

Hello,

 

My guess is you may have changed the setting of mouse or keyboard configuration? Please check your setting in the control panel in Windows OS.
