After Effects warning: Undo group mismatch, will attempt to fix. Have reinstalled After Effects a number of times, and now have a new computer. IT support at work are baffled. This happens as a result of not being able to import files in the normal way (File> Import, double click the media browser, right click on media browser and import) This is not a continuous issue, when I first open AE, I am able to work as normal, import at normal. Only after importing a few different comps does this begin to happen. I am suddenly unable to import any type of file or media. It does not respond or react to opening a box to even begin browsing for what I wish to import. The only other way to import would be to drag and drop my desired media into the project. As a result, when attempting to edit key frames for that imported item, this error (as before) will appear, and all imported media will disappear. Any idea how on earth to fix this issue, or what else I can do? The work around I have at the moment, is to close AE and reopen it, for it to work for about 30 mins before stopping again. it also quite often crashes when this pop up appears.

I'm having this same issue, but all I have done is open up AE and create a new comp.
The entire project is empty and I'm still getting this error after I create a new composition.
Any ideas?

Anything from cache corruption to leaky plug-ins used in the projects to CoDec issues. Impossible to tell, since you have not provided any exact info.

Thank you guys, finally got a result over the weekend!
The idea with the pre-compose from mylenium was good, but Mr. Gerard delivered the core solution: Tracking the background.
The whole project got more difficult because of the bad resolution of the high speed camera, I will focus on that for the next video.

Typically this can happen in any comp. I do not use any plug-in's. I use solids and masks to make simple animated charts, statistics and name straps. This error appears when altering key frames after importing an image. I have added a screen shot of a typical project. I hope this helps.

- AE Crashing when dragging files into the project list just as the app is showing the auto-save progress bar… (“ae.blitpipe making new context”, every time) - Filed as a bug report
Top Niggles:
- Resolve the performance hit introduced with the layer cache in CS6 that basically kills expressions that look forward or backwards on the timeline. I really shouldn’t have to keep CS5.5 around just to animate some bouncy text…
- Start being more intelligent about multiprocessing and memory allocation in general, instead of the current crap-shoot.
- Start telling me exactly which layer/effect is causing multiprocessing to be disabled. AE must *know* which one, in order decide whether to disable it or not. Why is it so hard for it to tell me?
- Stop including the time taken to initialise the background processes in the calculation for the render time estimate. The other day I got an initial estimate of 17 hours for a render that ended up taking 35 minutes… I appreciate that estimates are just that, but simply waiting until the background processes had fired up before starting to consider the remaining time would instantly increase the accuracy and usefulness of this feature by about 1000% - Filed as a feature request
Top Feature Requests:
- Colour swatches. The continued absence of this feature is just silly - Filed as a feature request
- Allow me to animate a camera’s Point Of Interest as separate dimensions - Filed as a feature request
- Allow me to delete more than one marker at a time (And no, “Delete All” doesn’t count) - Filed as a feature request
- Separate script editor panel - Filed as a feature request
- Separate Layer Effects panel, rather than digging down into individual layer attributes - Filed as a feature request
- Timeline folders - Hahaaaa, just kidding.
- How about being able to split the timeline window (á la Excel)? Like a previous poster, I often use a layer as a control surface which I usually keep at the top or bottom of the stack. At some point I will always end up working on layers at the opposite ends of the stack, but need to be working on keyframes for both. If we could split the window (horizontally or vertically, I could see a value in both) that would be a big convenience win, perhaps without the redevelopment overhead of adding layer folders.
Also, just so you know, the CAPTCHA on the feature request/bug submission form is one of the most user-hostile pieces of crap I've ever had the misfortune to use. You might find you got more bug reports if you didn't expect people to tell the difference between lowercase "L" and uppercase "I", upper and lowercase "J, V, W, C, O" etc. etc. etc.

You have right - I check it on CS6 and Audio Only Preview DON'T work when Brush, Clone or Eraser tools are selected.
Later I'll check this on CC 2014.
BTW I'm curious why this 3 tools have this special treatment and Audio Prev is disabled for them.

Two things:
1. Try highlighting some text in a webpage and pressing CMD+C to copy it. Then try opening AE and creating your new comp.
2. Consider updating. The current version of AE is not 13.0.2, but 13.2.0.49

AE CC, Version: 13.2.0.49 As far as concerned, this is completely up to date.

please see attached screen shots for the error messages in full.
exact sequence varies for this issue to happen. import failure through typical steps (file>import, double click, right click) will only import via drag and drop.
when dragging and dropping media to the project, and is adjusted (scale, position, key frames) the error message(s) will come up, and the dragged and dropped media disappears, all changes are undone.
Never used to have a problem before we updated to the cloud. not just me that is affected, another colleague is too.
no thid party hardware.
source footage varies from jpegs, to png's.
quicktime version 10.4
also running adobe premiere pro with no known issues.
no third party effects installed
do not know if using Open GL, I cannot see it in preferences, preview where it normally is.
no problems with output, issues with work flow.
specs of my machine are attached in screen shot. I have recently changed computers, the issue has been present on both.

interpretation rules error
Every time I open After Effects CC, it says "After Effects warning: could not use "Interpretation Rules.txt" file because of a syntax error on line 1. (39 :: 116)". And then it will say after I say yes "After Effects can't continue: unexpected failure during application startup". What should I do?

You highlight the second keyframe. You move it further down the timeline to make the effect longer.

how to resize (e.g. make it smaller size) the image imported from illustrator to after effects without losing the image quality
Dear all,
I drawn some vector image in Illustrator for the animation. Imported to after effects, resized no matter the 'ai' file or layers that I imported from Illustrator, the images look really **** (loosing the quality of the image).
What can I do to resize the image without losing the image quality? Thank you!

I Dave, and thanks for responding so quickly. I know the little “diamonds” are keyframes, but what about the little dark “circles”? I can’t seems to grab hold of them with my mouse to move down the timeline, which to me would make so much sense!
