it does, but the time ruler is messed up. you can still of course assume that f means s, but the real problem is the weird time intervals on 29.97 and 30 frame per second compositions.
Re: Can not see seconds in timeline After Effect
The upper image of your two screenshots is seconds and frames. In this section:
you see 29 secs and 5 frames, followed by 33 secs and 10 frames.
At certain wider zoom levels of the timeline it will change from f (frame) to s (seconds), meaning it is showing just increments of seconds.
EDIT: As a 24 or 25fps guy I didn't recognise the slight hiccup in time increments in 29.97/30 comps that is discussed above. A bug, indeed.
Re: Can not see seconds in timeline After Effect
That's true, but the time ruler is still messed up.
On 25f comp everything is fine, on a 29,97f or 30f comp, you get something like:
58:10f ... 06:20f ... 15:00f
The actual time is:
58s10f ... 01m06s20f ... 01m15s06f.
It's a question of zooming level, but a good time ruler would be read- and understandable at all zooming levels.

I agree martinr84659894, I think many still do not acknowledge that this is a bug until they face it head on in a project. the more attention we get by posting about it and more importantly - file bug reports, the likeliness that this bug will be squashed soon.
Re: Can not see seconds in timeline After Effect
Yes, when i zoom out I can see minutes, but any zoom in below 2min gets me this problem.
Re: Can not see seconds in timeline After Effect
As a paying customer, can I choose to install an older version?
If yes, which one would you recommend?
Re: Can not see seconds in timeline After Effect
You can install an older version through the CC Manager:
https://support.topazlabs.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/202220928/rollback1.png
But as long as this is only a display issue, I wouldn't go too crazy about it. You still can enter the TC directly.
Re: Mac Pinch Zoom in AfterEffects
Hi Szalam,
I have submitted another bug report.
if this feature is not coming back is there a way to have that confirmed?
I miss it every day : |
Re: Can not see seconds in timeline After Effect
CC 2015.3 was the last version this worked properly so I would recommend this version if this issue is a big deal for you.
Maya to After effects nightmare
Hello. I´m trying to export my camera and some locators to after effects and the resulting scene seems to suffer from offset of a wrong
camera. I don´t know if i am doing something wrong but i´ve followed
the instrucctions i´ve seen everywhere with no succes. Even Maya live
link is failing.
I have a 1920x1080 maya scene (the same in AE), i create some planes, one camera, set its
Fil Aspect Ratio to 1.778, render from Arnold and then i try to import
the camera via .ma files, .fbx (via FBX to AE plugin) and AE Live Link, and i always get the
same result, the planes are not in position.
This is driving me crazy.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks!
I guess it has to be with the scene scale or some camera setting that im not able to recognize yet...

AE Crashing - "last logged message was 3856, BEE_MiscTasks
Hi!
AE crashes on me when I switch between Illustrator and AE.
AE gives me this message:
"After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <3856><BEE_MiscTasks><5> Set Artisan Task: Classic 3D"
I'm working on a PC - Windows 7 Professional,
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700k CPU @ 4.GHz, 32 GB Ram,
After Effects: CC 2017 (no updates currently available)
I'm not using any 3d layers, but AM using the Duik script for puppets.
Shy switch affecting all layers
If I hit the Shy master switch, it toggles all of my layers on and off, rather than just the ones with the shy flag set.
Not sure if this is due to specific plugins / scripts or something else.
Any suggestions on how to address / fix?
Thanks

Re: New Computer--Blue Screen of Death Crash in After Effects
No, we have not found a solution to this. Our IT guy has been plugging away at it, trying different BIOS settings, searching error logs, and trying to rule out different hardware pieces. I've been on support with Adobe, who told me it wasn't an Adobe problem, so I should call Microsoft. Microsoft told me it wasn't a Windows problem, so I should call the hardware manufacturers. Our IT guy is working through the hardware, and thinks he has eliminated the RAM and the graphics card as possibilities. We're currently RMA'ing our processor to see if it is the problem.
Apologies for not updating this post very promptly with some of the information posters have asked for-- I posted above that I'm not very well-versed in error logs and crash reports, so I kind of went dark on the forums at that point. I'd love to try and work through this, but it might take some hand holding.
